Wow, LJ! Long time no see! Can I even remember how to do this?

Watched new SGU and Sanctuary last night, but it was early morning here, and I was a bit drunk, so not sure how much of it I actually remember... Since nobody I see in RL really watches them, I'm going to babble about them here. I miss having cosmic_llin around to talk to...

SGU: Love Eli in this episode! Could have coped without his Planet of the Apes and Star Wars references in previous episodes, but Futurama refs are just awesome! Also, so cute when he actually gets a girl! Felt a bit sorry for Chloe, but she is kinda sleeping with someone else's boyfriend as well. But she was funny drunk, and as always, love her interaction with Eli. Still holding out hope. After all, this is still Stargate, the guys can't have their characters in functional relationships! Chloe/Matt will not last! Also, Young/TJ? Real or fantasy? Is this why she stayed? Hmmm. If it is real, Young's a bit of a bastard, really. Not that it stops him being awesome though. Telford, on the other hand, is a bastard. Especially if he's going to do what I think he's going to do... Greer is awesome, even if we didn't see much of him this week. I like Matt, but it was nice to get the spotlight of him for a bit. Still undecided about Rush. Robert Carlyle is obviously great, but the character's motives are a bit vague...what is he playing at? Also, give Camille something to do!

Sanctuary: Not enough Ryan or Chris! Kate, though she's growing on me, I can cope without, but don't leave Henry and Bigfoot/Druitt out of the episode! As amazing as Helen and Will are, it's just not the same! Kate and Will? Wasn't expecting that. Also, who has babies during a zombie apocalypse?? Obviously, the human race would try to continue, but neither Will nor Kate would have given up the fighting, so they must have known that they couldn't raise the baby. Also, Magnus? Touching, but not exactly a modern name there...thought Kate would have gone for something more cool.
Of course, zombie apocalypses (apocalypsi?) are always fun. Wasn't really expecting Helen to be Patient Zero, although maybe I should have. I blame the fact that it was three in the morning. And the vodka.
What was up with Will's hair? Just...bizarre. Also, weird eyes are always good to show things have gone wrong.
Obviously, it turned out that it was all a dream/vision. Always a bit annoying. But I suppose that after Ashley's death (nobody ever dies in sci-fi, nobody ever dies in sci-fi), Helen would try to find away to stop being the way she is, and this was a good way to stop her from doing that again.
Also, John! Transporting a nuke to kill a load of zombies and, therefore, himself, because Helen was dead! You've got to love the guy! Although, sometimes I think it was more fun when he was evil.
So yeah, slightly creepy episode. Great, but lacking in some of my favourite characters! (Stupid Lj's spell check is telling me I've spelt favourite wrong. SHUT UP LJ, WITH YOUR STUPID AMERICAN SPELLCHECK!!!!)
Wow, I really overuse the word also in this post.
I was just happily watching some SG-1 special features earlier, which reminded me about Collectormania, which Amanda Tapping is attending. I've been really excited about this since it was announced, but it just occured to me that the date of the con is 5-7 of June. I got a bit worried, because I thought that my exams were still on then, and I wouldn't be able to go.

So I checked the dates of the exam period - May 18th to June 6th. So, I thought, it should be ok, unless my exams go to the very end, I can travel down to MK Friday or Saturday, come back Sunday, I should at least get the chance to meet Amanda.
Then I remembered that I get kicked out of my accomodation after exams. So I checked that date.
7th June. At 10am.
So, the only way I can possibly do it is if my exams finish early in the week, so that I can pack and go home before Friday, so that I can go down to MK. The plus side of this is that it's a much shorter train journey from Junction to MK than Aber to MK (there's no way I'm driving).
The negative side? The exam timetable won't be released for ages. Probably in April, though I'm not sure. So, by the time I know if I can go or not, it's going to be bloody impossible to find accomodation for the weekend
Plus, I'm going to have to find somebody to come with me, because I don't particularly want to go on my own.

If it were any other weekend in summer, it would be no problem. But no, it has to be the most onconvenient weekend possible.

/rant

She’d been watching for a while now, and there was no sign of the brutal stabbing that was supposed to have happened just outside. Finally, after what seemed like hours, something happened. At first, Aeryn just watched, glad that her job wasn’t as close to the action as those of the other CSIs. But then, as she watched the attacker plunge the knife into the victim’s stomach, dragging out his insides, even the sight in black and white made her stomach twist. She made it over to her bin before she threw up.
Looking up, she saw Ruby Lewis standing in her doorway.
“Dylan just sent me down to see if you found…oh,” Ruby said, walking over to Aeryn and helping her up. “I guess you did find something then.”
It was her third week working as a CSI in the AV lab and the work was tiring her out – not to mention having a three year old daughter running around. It was seven in the morning, and Aeryn couldn’t find anyone to look after Samantha. Sam’s dad was making himself unavailable again, and Aeryn’s usual babysitter had come down with the flu. Sighing, Aeryn picked up the phone one last time, and dialled Dylan Cash’s number.
“Dylan? It’s Aeryn. Listen, I’m going to have to take the day off…”

In walked the love of her life, the man she was going to marry soon, the father of her child, carrying a huge bunch of flowers. She smiled at him, and put the baby in her cot.
“Hey baby,” she said, unable to keep the grin from her face. He didn’t seem to share the feeling. “Isn’t she gorgeous?” Aeryn asked. The tone of his voice made her look up, confused.
“What?”
“I’ve been thinking – really hard – for a while now, and I just, well, I just don’t think we can do this anymore.” Aeryn sat for a minute, unable to speak.
“Can’t do what?” she asked eventually.
“This. Although she grew up in North Wales, her parents moved to Birmingham during her time at Bangor University, so Aeryn decided to stay in the area. Whilst living in Bangor, she met the man who she would later become engaged to. She got pregnant during her final year in university, and split from her fiance shortly after their daughter, Samantha, was born. Although Samantha still sees her father regularly, Aeryn spent the first two years after university looking after her daughter, and only took a proper job as a CSI a few months ago, when Samantha started nursery school.
FIELD OF EXPERTISE: Although she works mainly in the AV lab, Aeryn's background as a computer whizz means she is often called in to help the team with any computer evidence
CHARACTER: Quite shy and reserved from her time away from people her own age whilst raising her baby, Aeryn still has a wonderful sense of humour, but is quite hard to get to know.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Because Aeryn is a relatively new addition to the team, and because she rarely has a ny free time outside of work, she has yet to develop much of a relationship with any of the others. She admires Dylan Cash, but is wary of her
APPEARANCE: Aeryn has quite short, straight blonde hair and blue eyes. She is of medium height, and is one of those naturally thin people that everybody else hates. She tends not to bother much with appearance, being generally occupied with other things.

He was really old, and not too healthy, and he'd been really dehydrated lately, so Dad took him to the vets for a blood test. Results weren't good, so the vet recommended putting him down before he starts to really suffer. So we did. And now poor Greebo is on his own. I don't think he's realised yet.

Ahh, my darling Stargate. Just watched the latest episodes...
Not really big spoilers, just random things that I liked that didn't have much to do with the plot, but bunnyvon and cosmic_llin may find it slightly interesting!

First, Atlantis. Carson is so gay, in this episode at least! Apart from the whole Lucius obsession thing, when asked "You do like girls, don't you Carson?" he says "What? Er, yes, of course!" So obvious. Liz and Teyla acting like teenage girls was funny. There could have been more Radek though!
Next, Sg-1. Was the Atlantis crossover, so yay, and much Vala coolness and cute Daniel geeky angryness, so that was good. But the highlight of the episode was when Cam, talking about Teal'c, said "Is it just me or does his voice sound deeper?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, he could have been talking about the whole black hole time-dilation thing, but it could have been influenced by us, right?
And lemons! Cam threatens Rodney with a lemon, because John told him about it. T'was v. funny!

Llinos took some film of me trying to say "Squee" in a serious voice, but I kept giggling.
train to London, blah-de-blah-de-blah. They but in the "Quiet zone" for some unfathomable reason, and we couldn't find a free table.
Met bunnyvon at the station, and met her lovely cousin Leslie. Then we went to her dad's flat, where we found the nice cool walls, cosmic_llin, bunnyvon, her dad and Leslie went to buy some food, then when Vonnie's dad left, we finished off our Tolga Safer birthday scrapbook, mainly with some fun 'artistic impressions' of him.
We went to Oxford Street to do some shopping, doing a quick detour to Regent's Street to deliver the scrapbook. Got some stuff for people's costumes etc. Then we went back to the flat and Yvonne made a stir fry.
Leslie went to bed, and the rest of us stayed up thinking up songs with which to start a sing-along in the queue, which led to the writing of the Wraith Crack song... We went to bed at around 2, then me and cadiliniel, who I stole from Vonnie, were talking until about half past about ships and stuff, until we finally went to sleep. Then we both woke up at about three again, for some bizarre reason.

Saturday, we were all up at five, getting ready and finishing costumes. Got the Tube to Earl's Court, and managed to get there by about 6:45, but even then we weren't right at the front of the queue. We didn’t succeed at the whole sing-along thing, but we did get a request for the Wraith Crack song!
Then, at 9, after much clock watching by Leslie especially, we were let in, and ran for all our VTs and talk tickets, getting all the ones we wanted. Then we got some "breakfast", and noticed that Rachel Luttrell was already there, so we got into her line and got our autos. She was absolutely lovely, but not very imaginative with her autos, as all we got was "To..." and her signature. She said me and Llin looked adorable in our costumes though, and loved Yvonne and Nia's black ops ones.
Then we moved on to fangirl Don S. Davis, who was equally as wonderful, and also liked our costumes. He wrote half an essay on our pictures, and put "General Hammond" after his own signature.
Can't remember really what happened next, we probably wondered around the stalls for a bit, until me, Leslie, Nia and Yvonne started to queue for our Elijah auotos...he was on his break, so we were waiting ages, and everybody cheered when he showed up. He was very brisk, but he was super busy, so it was forgivable, plus he did personalization’s, which we weren't expecting.
We collapsed near his signing area because we were so tired, and Leslie went off for a talk...Llin wandered over and Yvonne started filming random stuff and asking me about the price of cheese. She was trying to figure out how to turn it off when Jorge Garcia walked past, so she started squealing "Look! Look!" so he did, and he waved at the camera!
Although Yvonne was moving it up and down, so it wasn't the greatest picture...
Am assuming we had lunch at some point, and then we went to the Don S. Davis and Rachel Luttrell talks. Llin and Yvonne went to the Serenity talk, which I missed because it just said Nathan Fillion, and I didn’t know Alan would be there too. Don and Rachel's talks were great, although Don kept going off on a tangent and forgetting the question. Rachel was again really sweet and lovely.
I bought Samantha Carter dog tags at some point, can't remember when though. Then some of us watched the football on a TV that a guy on a stall had, until we got chucked out of the venue because it was closing, and we had to got to the pub round the corner to watch the penalties and shit.

Ordered a pizza for dinner, and I kinda fell asleep reading my book in mine and Nia's bedroom due to exhaustion and cramps.
When I woke up after about half an hour, sashavangenius had arrived! Nia and Yvonne were sat outside on deckchairs because it was cooler, and reported seeing some kind of weird cat/dog creature run past.
Leslie went to bed, and Vonnie and Nia came in due to being scared of the creature. We named it Catdog, and decided that there were several variations of it including aqua catdog (who goes "Blub"), sausage catdog and some very weird others that I can't remember right now. By then we were all terrified that Catdog would get us and eat us if we got off Llin and Sasha's futon, but Yvonne had to get up in case Leslie had been attacked. Then we decided that Catdog didn't like Americans, so Leslie would be okay. Eventually, at about 1, we managed to get to bed.

Sunday we were up at five again, although a bit slower. We had dissected bits of George the watermelon and some apples in Yvonne's bag to eat in the queue. Llin went and sat in the non-paid queue with Sash so she could make a wand and crown for Sash's Glinda costume, and Vonnie came over to keep me and Nia company.
BTW, Nia and Yvonne, the people in front of us were from Gateworld, and heard us talking about George. And one of them says that Nia reminds her of Michelle Rodriguez, or however you spell it.
In at ten, and I walked for my Alan Tudyk VT, because we were only like 10th in the queue, and I got number 3 then got talk tickets.
Queued up with Yvonne for her Nathan Fillion auto, and we were front of the queue when he got in. He was v. funny, and write "at last we meet" on her picture, and asked her what a hen party was. Also, he introduced himself to everybody, which was odd.
Then we queued for my Alan auto. He wasn't as fun as Nathan, but I love him anyway. He wrote "Keep flying" on my photo.
Met up with Nia in the Rachel talk queue, and then went to that and fangirled everything she mentioned e.g. CSI (even though I've never seen it) and Shakespeare, which Rachel seemed to find amusing!
Then Yvonne went back to get her Nathan auto redone, because all the ink was coming off. The ticket guy who was kind of mean earlier was nice and let her in the queue without paying. Me and Nia got really bored, because Nathan was on his break and taking ages, but it was amusing watching Alan draw on Nathan's poster. They'd been doing it on Saturday as well. We debated going to see Rachel because she had an open queue, but we chickened out then she went on her break anyway.
Nathan finally came back and redid Yvonne's thing, and added "Don't forget me" at the bottom! Then we went to queue for the Alan Tudyk talk. Well, Nia joined Leslie at the front of the Elijah talk queue, because Leslie had been there for about 2 hours!
The Alan talk was ace, because Nathan was there too, and they were both really funny, and Nathan seemed to remember almost everybody who he'd already seen!
Then we joined the Elijah queue, at the front with Leslie and Nia, even though the queue was massive. Some stupid frelling foreign woman pushed in in front of us and took the best seats. We were really, really pissed of, partly for Leslie, because by then she'd been there for FOUR HOURS! When she asked the woman, she said she'd been there an hour and there was no queue. Even though there was one going round the corner and round the next corner. So Leslie tapped on her chair through the entire talk, which was very amusing (the talk, as well as the tapping). He talked about Cube, which I squeed at very loudly. Why he talked about it I can't remember, since he wasn't actually in it. I think he'd just worked with the director.
Then we met up with Llin again, and went home. We were absolutely boiled getting to the station and aiting for our platform to be announced. We sat with tiggerthehobbit on the train, who kept us amused.
Then we were home by about eleven, when I collapsed on my bed and slept for nearly 12 hours!

God, that was a long post! But an altogether awesome weekend!
